Daði Freyr Eurovision semi-finals performance unlikely after team member tests positive for COVID-19

Iceland's 2021 Eurovision contestant Daði Freyr has given an update on whether they can perform at the Eurovision semi-finals tomorrow (20 May), revealing it's unlikely after a member tested positive for COVID-19.

Last weekend Daði Freyr, who was reselected to represent Iceland at this year's competition with "10 Years" after last year's Eurovision was cancelled due to the pandemic, revealed that a member from the Icelandic team tested positive for the virus.

After giving an update on Monday (17 May) revealing they were waiting for test results to come back, Daði Freyr has given another update today, writing, "A member of Gagnamagnið got a positive test result this morning. Unfortunately this probably means that we will not take part in the rehearsal today or live show tomorrow and a recording from our second rehearsal will be used instead. We have all been extremely careful the whole trip so this comes as a huge surprise. We are very happy with the performance and super excited for you all to see it! Thank you for all the love."
