Courtney Barnett previews new album with third single "Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To"
Courtney Barnett has unveiled new single "Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To" as the latest preview of her upcoming third album Things Take Time, Take Time.
"Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To" is the third outing from Things Take Time, Take Time, following earlier singles "Before You Gotta Go" and "Rae Street", and is teamed with a Christina Xing-directed video.
The new song, according to a press release, is inspired by a technique suggested to Barnett by one of her friends on how to get out of a period of depression. Barnett says, "I found a deeper communication with people in my life – deeper conversations, and a new level of gratitude for friendships that had been there for so long that I had maybe taken for granted."
Things Take Time, Take Time will follow 2018's Tell Me How You Really Feel album, and was written over the space of two years. Barnett recorded the album in late 2020 and early 2021 in Sydney, Northern New South Wales and Melbourne with producer/drummer Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Cate le Bon, Kurt Vile).
Earlier this month Barnett also launched an interactive stem mixer tool for songs from Things Take Time, Take Time.
