Courtney Barnett shares Harriet The Spy theme song "Smile Real Nice"
Ahead of releasing her third album Things Take Time, Take Time next month, Courtney Barnett has shared "Smile Real Nice", which will be the theme song for the upcoming animated series of Harriet The Spy.
"Smile Real Nice" is Barnett's first outing since last month's "Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To", and instead of featuring on Things Take Time, Take Time, "Smile Real Nice" is a non-album track that is being used as the theme song for the animated series adaptation of Harriet The Spy.
The Apple TV+ series of Harriet The Spy will arrive on the platform next month, and Barnett's new song also featured in the series trailer unveiled yesterday (13 October).
So far Barnett has released three singles from Things Take Time, Take Time - "Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To", "Before You Gotta Go" and "Rae Street".
Things Take Time, Take Time will follow 2018's Tell Me How You Really Feel album, and was written over the space of two years. Barnett recorded the album in late 2020 and early 2021 in Sydney, Northern New South Wales and Melbourne with producer/drummer Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Cate le Bon, Kurt Vile).
