Charli XCX and Serwah to release NFT to raise money for GLAAD
Charli XCX has collaborated with 3D artist and musician Serwah to release a new NFT that reimagines what a "xcx world landscape might look like in the 1700's" as part of Nifty Pride 2021.
Later today (29 June), Charli XCX and Sydney-based 3D artist and musician Serwah Attafuah will launch their collaborative pride digital artwork for Nifty Pride 2021.
According to Charli XCX Updates on Twitter, all proceeds from primary sales of the NFT will be donated to GLAAD.
Charli XCX says of the project, "I’m so excited to be collaborating on this special pride digital artwork with Serwah Attafuah and I’m so happy to raise funds for GLAAD. I wanted to explore what the idea of a reimagined version of an xcx world landscape might look like in the 1700's. It’s 100% super cute and freaky. The lgbtq+ community have always been so inspiring and supportive of me and my art. I am so proud to be able to be involved in this project."
Charli XCX Updates wrote on Twitter that the NFT is "Serwah Attafuah's visual interpretation of XCX World - the previously leaked and subsequently unreleased 2017 studio album by Charli XCX."
“1700 B.C (X.C.X)" is Serwah Attafuah's visual interpretation of "XCX World" - the previously leaked and subsequently unreleased 2017 studio album by Charli XCX. This piece is Serwah and Charli's celebration of the LGBTQIA community, sex work pride and it's historical flare.
