Cat Power to recreate Bob Dylan's 1966 Royal Albert Hall show in November
Cat Power has announced a new show for November at London's Royal Albert Hall where she'll recreate Bob Dylan's legendary 1966 show in full.
On 5 November Cat Power will play London's Royal Albert Hall, but instead of performing her own music, Cat Power will recreate a legendary show by Bob Dylan in 1966, which was released inn 1998 as the second instalment of Dylan's ongoing Bootleg Series.
While Dylan's show was named after Royal Albert Hall in the Bootleg Series, it actually took place at the Manchester Free Trade Hall.
She will recreate Dylan's setlist in full, performing the first half as an acoustic set before beng joined by her full live band for the rest of the show.
Cat Power, real name Chan Marshall, said of the upcoming event, "When I finally got the opportunity to play The RAH, it was a no brainer. I just wanted to sing Dylan songs. And as much as any, this collection of his songs, to me, belong there."
