Bruce Springsteen signs a note to help kid avoid trouble
Bruce Springsteen, proving once again why he's known as The Boss, has signed a note to help a US fifth grader avoid trouble.
Philly.com reports that Masterman School student Michael Fenerty missed school yesterday to go a fan meet and greet at the Central Library of the Free Library Of Philadelphia.
Fenerty took the day off school to go to the event with his father, Mike, a lifelong fan and memorabilia collector, who suggested that while they were there they should try and get Springsteen to sign an absence note.
"My son said, 'Bruce, would you sign my absence note?' [Springsteen] lit up," says dad Mike. "He was affectionate toward Michael as soon as he saw him. He said, 'I have to read it first, that's how I got in trouble with my first contract.' He said, 'I hope you don't get in trouble.' My son was very starstruck - it was a very cool experience."
