Bruce Springsteen becomes first artist to achieve Top Five album in six consecutive decades
Bruce Springsteen has made US chart history after becoming the first artist to have an album in the Top Five in each of the past six decades.
Springsteen's latest album Letter To You has broken a new charting record for The Boss, who is now the only artist to have an album chart in the Top Five for six consecutive decades.
Letter To You debuted at Number Two in the Billboard charts this week, earning Springsteen his sixth Top Five album since the '70s.
As Billboard reports, The Boss' first Top Five album was Born To Run, which landed at Number Three in 1975, and was followed by five Top Five albums in the '80s including The River, Nebraska, and Born in the U.S.A..
His first '90s Top Five album was 1992's Human Touch, and in 2001 his Live in New York City LP went to Number Five, securing his fourth consecutive decade for having an album charting in the Top Five.
Springsteen's first '10s Top Five album was 2012's Wrecking Ball, and he just secured his first '20s Top Five album with Letter To You.
