Brittany Howard performs cover of Nina Simone's "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free"
Brittany Howard has uploaded a video of her performing a cover of Nina Simone's "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free" as part of a Stand Up To Cancer broadcast that aired last weekend.
Howard previously covered Simone's "Revolution" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last November, and last weekend (21 August) she covered Simone's "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free" as part of a Stand Up To Cancer telecast.
In the video description, Howard wrote, "So proud to have been part of the Stand Up To Cancer telecast on Saturday August 21st. I stand up for my Sister Jaime, who passed from retinoblastoma and I stand up for the millions affected by cancer."
The cover follows last month's release of Jaime Reimagined, an album of reimagined tracks from Howard's 2019 debut solo album Jaime. Childish Gambino, Bon Iver, Syd, EARTHGANG, Jungle and more contributed to the reimagined album.
