Black Keys' Dan Auerbach details new solo record
Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys is prepping a new solo record featuring a heap of special guests, including Duane Eddy and Mark Knopfler.
Auerbach calls the release "a whole history of everything I love about music". It's his first solo endeavour since Keep It Hid in 2009, and according to Rolling Stone it's out in the spring.
The as-yet-untitled collection will feature contributions from some star names, including Dave Roe (who played with Johnny Cash for over 20 years), Bobby Wood and Gene Christmas (who collaborated with Elvis Presley and Dusty Springfield as part of Memphis' American Sound Studious in-house band), the legendary Duane Eddy, and Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler.
The team conjured 60-odd tracks for the album - titles include "Shine On Me", "Waiting On A Song", and "Malibu Man", a tribute to super-producer Rick Rubin.
Auerbach's band The Black Keys are still taking some time off, while his other band The Arcs are working on a second album.
