Björk to livestream virtual reality performance from Tokyo
Björk is set to livestream a virtual reality/360-degree performance of "Quicksand" today at midday in the UK.
Described as the "world's first VR and 360 livestream", the ambitious performance will be taking place at Miraikan (the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation), Tokyo, at 8pm JST.
The performance is a collaboration between the legendary Icelandic artist and Dentsu Lab Tokyo, and forms part of the Björk Digital exhibition which opens at the museum on 29 June.
Björk is set to don a 'Rottlace' mask, designed by Professor Neri Oxman of MIT Media Lab and the Mediated Matter Group, which was created with Stratasys' 3D printing technology.
"Quicksand" is taken from Björk's LP Vulnicura, which is getting a special deluxe live version in the coming months.
