Bill Callahan and Bonnie "Prince" Billy have teamed up with AZITA to cover Yusuf/Cat Stevens' "Blackness of the Night" track.
"Blackness of the Night" was released as a protest song in 1967 when Yusuf Islam was still known as Cat Stevens.
Today (1 October), Drag City's Bill Callahan, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and Chicago-based AZITA have joined forces for a harmony-driven cover of the '60s song.
The cover of "Blackness of the Night" is Callahan's first outing since releasing his Gold Record album earlier this month, and is Bonnie "Prince" Billy's first cover since his I Made A Place album arrived in November 2019.
Bill Callahan and Bonnie "Prince" Billy's cover of Yusuf/Cat Stevens' "Blackness of the Night" featuring AZITA is out now on Drag City.
