Berwyn takes third place in BBC Sound of 2021 poll
Trinidad-born, London-based multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter/rapper Berwyn has placed third in the BBC Sound of 2021 shortlist.
Berwyn has taken third place in the BBC Sound of 2021 poll today (5 January) after Greentea Peng took fourth place in the shortlist yesterday (4 January), while Griff was named as fifth place on Sunday (3 January).
After featuring on multiple tracks on the 2020 Everything Is Recorded album FRIDAY FOREVER, Berwyn started releasing his own music, beginning with the emotive "GLORY" in May 2020. Since then he's released multiple singles and his debut project DEMOTAPE/VEGA, which was followed by "VINYL" in November 2020.
Berwyn celebrated the news of making the BBC Sound of 2021 shortlist earlier today on Twitter with a message and a snippet of a new song. Berwyn wrote, "Gassed aint even the word. Very grateful to have made the [BBC Sound of 2021] list. Feel like I have to do something in return so here’s a leak honestly it's the least I could do. Love u guys from the marrow in my bone u bunch of g’s. Happy new year. God is good."
