
Beabadoobee covers Daniel Johnston's "Walking the Cow" for Apple Music
Beabadoobee has released a cover of the late Daniel Johnston's "Walking the Cow" track as part of a session for Apple Music.
"Walking the Cow" originally appeared on Johnston's 1983 album Hi, How Are You.
Yesterday (28 July), Dirty Hit's Beabadoobee shared a cover of Johnston's "Walking the Cow" as part of a session she recorded for Apple Music.
She said of her song choice, "I chose to cover Daniel Johnston’s "Walking the Cow" because he is one of my favourite songwriters of all time. Doing that song reminded me how pure and honest his writing can be. My set-up was how I imagine Daniel Johnston would have recorded his tracks. I tried recording inside a little bedroom with a four-track belonging to my boyfriend’s brother for a DIY sound. I also recorded outside to capture the nature and birds."
Earlier this month, Beabadoobee announced her debut album Fake It Flowers with the lead single "Care", which she also performed for the Apple Music session.
