At The Drive-In confirm reunion, announce world tour, new music planned for 2016
At The Drive-In have confirmed they're returning in a big way - with a world tour and the promise of the new music for the first time in over 15 years.
The band reunited briefly in 2012 with a series of shows and reissues, but haven't performed since. This week the post-hardcore icons have been slowly teasing their comeback with snippets of new noise and the odd festival slot.
Speaking to Fuse, the band's Omar Rodríguez-López says:
"We’re all excited to be seeing each other, to be playing in a room again, and to be making music under a new context. This is where we all came from. We have different families now, we live in different places, but these are our roots, and a true person never forgets their roots. There’s a safety in being around people you trust."
During their upcoming world tour At The Drive-In will play Dublin's Vicar Street (26 March) and London's Roundhouse (27 March).
As well as the new dates, At The Drive-In are set to release their first new music since 2000's Relationsip Of Command.
