
Ariana Grande, Ava Max and LadBaby are top contenders for this year's Christmas Number One
The midweek UK chart update is here, and highlights Ariana Grande, Ava Max, and LadBaby as the leading artists to claim Christmas Number One.
Ava Max's "Sweet But Psycho" is currently leading at the top in the midweek analysis with 978 combined sales and streams more than the second contender.
LadBaby's lighthearted and comical take on Starship's "We Built This City" - he's swapped the rock and roll for sausage rolls - is currently in second place, with all proceeds made from the single going to foodbank charity The Trussell Trust. On his midweek positioning, LadBaby explained, "Let’s pinch that Number One spot from the global mega stars, eat our own body weight in sausage rolls AND most importantly raise even more money to support the amazing UK food banks charity Trussell Trust this Christmas!"
"Thank U, Next" is also in the running to take the UK Christmas Number One, sitting just 508 combined sales behind LadBaby's offering.
Grande's latest single "Imagine" is currently sitting in fourth place, with Mariah Carey's 12th consecutive re-entry into the UK Singles Chart with her iconic festive number, "All I Want For Christmas Is You".
Last year's Christmas Number One went to Ed Sheeran for his "Perfect" single.
