The new Arctic Monkeys record is out very soon, according to drummer Matt Helders
The long-awaited follow up to Arctic Monkeys' 2013 album AM is apparently coming in May, with a single arriving "soon".
As triple j point out, drummer Matt Helders revealed the news to a fan while chowing down on cheesy chips and gravy in a kebab shop. It's been a long five years since the Sheffield rockers released a proper record, but a lengthy list of live dates this year (including lots of festival slots) sent the rumour mill into overdrive... and it looks very much like that new release will be landing sooner rather than later.
This news follows frontman Alex Turner revealing the lead single would be arriving "soon" to a different fan (while sporting a very different look to his suave, Elvis-esque look of the band's previous phase).
See the fan-posted info below, and the get suitably pumped. If it's coming as soon as May then that's very exciting indeed.

@ArcticMonkeysUS just met Al again. I can confirm the beard remains, but he gave away nothing about UK dates and said the single would be “soon” pic.twitter.com/WY6DEzBgGc
