Aquaserge, Marietta, and Dead Sea will play special psych Oui Love night in London
In partnership with Best Fit and Rockfeedback, the Oui Love night of all French music in London takes a psych turn in September with a very special line-up.
Taking place at Birthdays in London on 21 Sep 2017, each act is bringing their own take on the psych genre. Get acquainted below:
Aquaserge
Aquaserge is a strange beast. Made up of members of various other bands (from Tame Impala to Melody's Echo Chamber), the quirky quintet makes technically impressive but always humorous music, playing with the audience's expectations at every turn. With heavy nods to jazz, it's live that the band is best appreciated, as they bring their cheeky blend of genres to Birthdays.
Marietta
Marietta makes feisty music, sometimes lo-fi, sometimes lush, always incisive. Signed on Born Bad Records - which counts pretty much all the good French psych on their roster - the Frenchman will release the follow-up to his English-sung debut after the summer, this time all in French. "Nos Ventres Nus" is its first extract, giving you a good idea of the kind of wooziness to expect.
Dead Sea
A touch more mellow than their compatriots, Dead Sea is no less enthralling. With vocals reminiscing of Sade and a production conjuring Woman's Hour, the quartet will make for the perfect opening.
