Anna Calvi gives update on new music, says she has "enough songs for an album"
Anna Calvi has given a brief update on her new music, revealing that she's recorded "enough songs for an album" during lockdown, and is now "trying to decide whether they’re good enough".
Calvi hasn't released new music since last year's Hunter rework LP Hunted, but back in January she updated her socials for the first time this year, and shared an encouraging message for fans confirming that she "will be releasing lots of new music this year".
In a new interview with Guitar.com, Calvi gave a brief update on her new music. While she did confirm it's still "early days", Calvi did share that she's "enjoying the exploration stage at the moment". Calvi said, "I definitely have enough songs for an album, I’m just trying to decide whether they’re good enough and I’ve got an album. That’s the next stage."
Guitar.com's interview also revealed that Calvi has continued to write music on her sunburst 1997 American Standard Telecaster.
Calvi also shared in the interview that she's been experimenting with guitar pedals more, "I’m definitely more into experimenting with pedals than I used to be. I used to think that everything should come from the hands, but now I’ve become a bit more open to having lots of pedals. It’s a lot of fun and an interesting way of sculpting your sonic universe."
