Anderson .Paak returns with new protest single "Lockdown"
To commemorate Juneteenth, Anderson .Paak has shared his powerful protest single "Lockdown".
"Lockdown" is .Paak's first new release since teaming up with Justin Timberlake on "Don’t Slack" back in March.
.Paak's new single arrives with a visual directed by Dave Meyers, and features cameos from Syd, Jay Rock, Andra Day, Dominic Fike, and others. The video is focused on the Black Lives Matter protests and the COVID-19 pandemic, and ends with a list of various victims of police brutality, including George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
The visual also reveals that .Paak and his .Paak House team have donated to Action Bail Fund LA, Atlanta Solidarity Fund, and Albany Safety Fund for Black Lives. All cast and crew that worked on the "Lockdown" video have also donated their salaries to Dream Defenders.
