The Pains of Growing was released on 30 November 2018 as Cara's second album. She wrote, "I remember feeling heavily misunderstood from different corners when I put the suit on and wrote those songs. But it was one of the best decisions I ever made (good things take a while!)."
Cara continued, "Looking back on today with so much fondness and a wild amount of excitement for album three. Still a bit more to go, but it's gonna be realllll fun I think."
