A 2 Chainz feature on your track will cost you $100,000
Georgia rapper and Def Jam signee, 2 Chainz has opened the discussion on the increasing prevalence of guest spots in modern hip-hop, and pop music more broadly.
Whilst previously general marketing procedure was to enlist several producers and electronic musicians to remix your new single or track, now it’s become more common for labels to reel out the exact same recording just with an added guest verse.
“I got features out there that I haven’t even heard yet. The only thing I have to make sure is that I don’t say the same thing twice,” 2 Chainz recently told BBC 1Xtra in interview.
He went on to reveal that a 2 Chainz feature will cost you a hefty $100,000. That’s £60,000 in UK money. Just imagine how much a Pharrell Williams spot would cost…
