6LACK delivers extended version of "Unfair" alongside new track "Been A While"
To keep fans ticking over until next year, Atlanta's 6LACK has shared the full version of "Unfair", as well as a new number "Been A While".
"Unfair" originally appeared as the opening track to his crticially-acclaimed East Atlanta Love Letter album that dropped back in September. The new version is nearly five minutes long, compared to the two-minute first version.
"Been A While", produced by Fwdslxsh and Neenyo, is a new offering from the Atlanta artist, and sees him reflect on being in a better place after a finished relationship.
The rapper has been nominated for multiple Grammy Award in the past two years, and has even made the 2019 nominations list for his "Pretty Little Fears" track with J. Cole, which is up for Best Rap/Sung Performance.
Speaking to Billboard about his most recent album East Atlanta Love Letter, 6LACK explained, "it was solely about bringing other people into my world. I do stay to myself, so people don’t really know who I work with or who I fuck with or who I’m friends with. So I decided to bring in people who are from different realms -- like Cole, Khalid, Offset -- but to make it all cohesive and give them an opportunity to do something that they probably wouldn’t do on their song or album. I wanted to do that and have it make sense -- because when you look at it, it’s like, “Future, Cole and Khalid? Offset?” It looks all over the place in some kind of way, but then you hear it, and it works."
