
2020 Mercury Prize winner to be revealed live on The One Show
This year's Hyundai Mercury Prize winner will be announced live on BBC's The One Show.
Usually, the Mercury Prize winner is announced at an awards ceremony in London with a live show, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's winner will be announced in a different way.
On 24 September, BBC's The One Show will announce the winner of this year's award. Laura Marling, Stormzy, Kano, Charli XCX, Anna Meredith, Moses Boyd, and more have been nominated.
The day before the winner is announced, Lauren Laverne will host a special BBC Four programme called Hyundai Mercury Prize 2020: Album Of The Year, which will feature new and archive performances from the 12 nominees.
Friday 25 September will see the winner of the 2020 Mercury Prize Award interviewed during a special episode of Later… with Jools Holland. Both the Hyundai Mercury Prize 2020: Album Of The Year programme and the special Later… with Jools Holland episode will be available on the BBC iPlayer after.
Last year's Mercury Prize was won by Dave for his PSYCHODRAMA debut album.
