141 new artists added to The Great Escape lineup
Just when you thought they couldn’t make it any bigger, the three-day Brighton festival does exactly that. This year, the festival will take place from May 10-12 across 30 different venues throughout the seaside city, and a whopping 141 new acts from around the world have just been added to create an unrivalled line-up – (a fitting complement for a recently announced £38,000 grant from Arts Council England.)
The Temper Trap are set to return to The Great Escape after three years, headlining the Brighton Dome: “We can’t wait to play The Great Escape again”, they said. “We’ll be playing songs from our new album; it’s set to be a very special show.”
Joining them will be the likes of We Are Augustines, Devin, Haim, Kids in Glass Houses, Fossil Collective, Virals, S.C.U.M., Theme Park, We Are Scientists and White Arrows. Other acts already confirmed includeJamie N Commons, Maximo Park, Com Truise, Mystery Jets, Dry the River and We Are The Ocean. Best Fit Recordings‘ own I Ching and Fanzine have also been confirmed as well as our current pop crush – Sweden’s Dante.
But if that’s not enough, the Institut Ramon Llull is jumping on board as its lead International partner, and will be presenting ‘Catalan Sounds’. Bands such as Oso Leoneand Ninette and Goldfish will be joining a whole host of other artists to bring music from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands to Brighton.
