
Kris Kristofferson has died aged 88
Musician and actor Kris Kristofferson has passed away at the age of 88.
A known collaborator with the likes of Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and Gladys Knight, his songwriting credits include “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” “Me And Bobby McGee,” and “Sunday Morning Comin’ Down”. For his talents, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 1985
Also prolific in his acting career, Kristofferson working alongside Martin Scorsese, Sam Peckinpah, and John Sayles, he starred in the likes of Lone Star, Blade, A Star Is Born – for which he won a Golden Globe Award – Garcia, and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28 at home," the statement from his family reads. "We’re all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all.”
Kris Kristofferson's final album was The Cedar Creek Sessions, released in 2016.
