
Kate Bush, Missy Elliott and The White Stripes among Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2023 nominees
The 2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced, and includes Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, The White Stripes and more.
Kate Bush, Missy Elliott and The White Stripes have been nominated alongside Sheryl Crow, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, The Spinners, A Tribe Called Quest and Warren Zevon,
Missy Elliott and The White Stripes are the only two acts featured in their first year of eligibility. 2023 marks Rage Against The Machine's fifth nomination, the fourth for Kate Bush and The Spinners, and the second for A Tribe Called Quest and Iron Maiden. 2023 also marks the first Rock Hall nomination for Sheryl Crow, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Willie Nelson and Warren Zevon.
John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation said, "This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates. These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps."
This year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be announced in May, and this year's induction ceremony is due to take place in autumn.
