Joni Mitchell announces remastered album series, The Asylum Albums (1976-1980)
Joni Mitchell has announced a new boxset which sees her 1976-1980 era remastered and available on vinyl, CD and digital formats.
The Asylum Albums (1976-1980) compiles Hejira, Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter, Mingus, as well as the live album Shadows and Light. The release is accompanied by liner notes from Meryl Streep.
“It’s not just the artifact—music and lyrics—that Joni gives us. Her artistry leaves us, ourselves, changed. She has shifted things around inside us. And that’s how artists change the world," Streep writes.
Known for its narrative style and complex guitar tuning, "Coyote" showcases Joni's distinctive approach to songwriting and composition.
