Jessica Pratt unveils final album preview, "The Last Year"
Jessica Pratt has shared "The Last Year" as the latest single from her fourth album – and first in five years – Here in the Pitch.
Following "Life Is" and "World on a String", this latest release is the album’s closing track, which sees Pratt tapping into a universal resolution that offers what she calls a "weird optimism" at the end of a record that leads down some admittedly darker roads.
Featuring Pratt’s voice over hollowed guitar strums, "The Last Year" ends with a grand, sweeping piano melody from Al Carlson, providing a bright and hopeful conclusion to Here in the Pitch.
Here in the Pitch will be released on 3 May via City Slang (Mexican Summer in the US), and is available to pre-order now.
