Hayley Williams shares video of her performing "Asystole" and "Good Grief" for the first time
Hayley Williams has shared a video of herself performing an acoustic rendition of "Asystole" live for the first time.
The track features on Williams' second solo album, Flowers For Vases / Descansos, which was released in 2021 as the counterpart to her solo debut, Petals For Armor.
Last week, after archiving all her content on social media during Paramore's return for their sixth studio album, This Is Why, Williams decided to bring back some of the footage she took of herself playing guitar during 2020/21 – she called the sessions self-serenades. Some of the performances include covers of "Drew Barrymore" by SZA, "Smoke Signals" by Phoebe Bridgers, Tegan and Sara's "Call It Off", "Unison" by Björk, and Failure's "The Nurse Who Loved Me".
Today (23 May) Williams has uploaded some new content to the self-serenade series including a snippet of her singing "Moon River"; a clip of her recording the guitars of "My Limb"; a cover of Best Coast's "When I'm With You", which was made when Bethany Cosentino was collecting covers of songs from her first album, by her peers; a cover of "Communication" by The Cardigans, and the first acoustic performances of her playing songs from her second album – "Asystole" and "Good Grief".
Hayley Williams is currently on tour with Paramore supporting Taylor Swift across Europe at The Eras Tour.
