Halle Bailey announces her debut solo project "Angel"
Halle Bailey – who recently starred in The Little Mermaid – is set to release her debut solo single, this Friday.
Bailey posted a teaser video to her YouTube channel, which featured archive footage of her childhood, as well as clips of recent solo performances.
The singer-songwriter and actress is one half of the sister duo Chloe x Halle, who have received five Grammy Award nominations across their two albums, 2018's The Kids Are Alright and 2020’s Ungodly Hour. The duo shared their first EP, Uncovered, in 2013 with covers of popular singles from Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and more, and their debut album, The Two of Us, arrived in 2017.
Alongside The Little Mermaid, Bailey recently starred in The Colour Purple, which is due for release on Christmas Day. The film is a musical adaptation of Alice Walker's novel about the life-long struggles of an African-American woman living in the South during the early 1900s.
"Angel" is set for release on 4 August.
