Girls Aloud set to reunite for 2024 tour dedicated to Sarah Harding
The iconic early '00s pop group Girls Aloud have announced a reunion tour for 2024 in celebration of their 20 year anniversary, and their late band member Sarah Harding.
Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle, and Nicola Roberts shared a video on social media to announce the news, yesterday evening. “Announcing the Girls Aloud Show arena tour next May/June 2024. A celebration of Sarah, our music & our incredible fans. We can’t wait to sing & dance with you again.”
The shows will be dedicated to their former bandmate, Harding, who died of cancer in 2021. Speaking to BBC News about the shows, Roberts said: "We're going to do our absolute utmost to celebrate her in the most enormous, magical way". Walsh added: “For us, it will feel very much like she’s there. She came alive on stage. That was the happiest she ever was. With grief, there’s definitely a shift where it’s like, ‘OK, you’re ready to celebrate that person.’”

Earlier this month, there were reports that they were filming a video for forthcoming new music, but Girls Aloud have dispelled this. "There is no new music and there is no video - although we've shot a commercial," Coyle said. "Making new music without Sarah would be odd," Tweedy agreed. "But celebrating what we made together? Fabulous."
When asked about the new arrangement of songs, and whether other members would take over Harding's parts, Coyle replied: "There's so many things that are just iconically Sarah, that have to remain Sarah," she says. "We're not going to mess with that. I'm not going to start taking over Sarah's big bits. Girls Aloud wouldn't be what it was without Sarah and everything she added to it."
Fifteen dates are currently planned in Belfast, Manchester, Cardiff, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, London and Liverpool. The tour is set to kick off in Dublin on 18 May.
