Ghetts donates music video budget to Newham and Essex Beagles Athletics Club
Ghetts has revealed that he donated the music video budget for his latest single to Newham and Essex Beagles Athletics Club.
Late last month, Ghetts released "Laps" featuring Moonchild Sanelly as his first new music since 2021. The track is the opening single from his forthcoming album, On Purpose, With Purpose. Unusually for Ghetts, who released a slew of impressive visuals alongside his last album, the single arrived without a video.
Ghetts has shared his decision to forgo a video for Laps in favour of donating the budget to local sports group, Newham and Essex Beagles Athletics Club. Motivated by a desire to do something meaningful, and give back to a community struggling in the wake of the pandemic and ongoing cost of living crisis, this unique partnership sees Ghetts, who was born and raised in Newham, paying for the annual membership of 150 youngsters.
Formed in 1887, Newham and Essex Beagles Athletics Club is a pillar of the local community. A vibrant, diverse and inclusive sports club, the Beagles have a proud history of encouraging children and nurturing success - members include Olympians and world class athletes, including; Sir Mo Farah, Christine Ohuruogu, Daley Thompson, Iwan Thomas, Asha Philip and Jonathan Broom-Edwards.
Ghetts forthcoming album, On Purpose, With Purpose, follows his 2021 offering Conflict Of Interest, which reacher number two on the Official UK Albums Chart, and led to a MOBO Award, plus Mercury Music Prize and Brit Award nominations.
On Purpose, With Purpose, is set for release on 5 January via Warner Music, and is available to pre-order now.
