Famous announce indefinite hiatus alongside farewell track, "Revelation"
South London-based band Famous have announced an indefinite hiatus, with their forthcoming London headline show at the ICA to now act as a farewell show.
"We have come to the decision—in friendship and in celebration—that, following our show at the ICA, Famous will take an indefinite hiatus. This will be our final show, certainly in this incarnation and in any instance for the foreseeable future," band leader Jack Merrett explains.
"I cannot say what these nine years have meant to me, nor express my gratitude to all of you for making them possible. They have, though, like anything to which you give everything, asked a lot of us: of me, of the band, and of our incredible team. We’ve made this decision to make room in our lives for other things but, perhaps more importantly, to ensure we never come to resent something so important to us."
The band will play their final show for now at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts on 2 October.
Following their two EPs, England (2019) and The Valley (2021), the band released their debut album, Party Album, last year on Untitled (Recs). Last month saw the first new music since its release, with single "Demons in London", released in collaboration with Silver Gore's Ava Gore.
"Revelation" is out now.
