Drake's OVO Sound logo to feature on FC Barcelona kit in game against Real Madrid this weekend
FC Barcelona's kit will honour Drake this weekend by featuring the OVO Sound owl logo in the club's match against Real Madrid.
This Sunday's (16 October) El Clásico match will see the Spotify logo on FC Barcelona's kit replaced by Drake's OVO owl logo to celebrate the rapper becoming the first artist to pass 50 billion streams on the platform.
It also marks the first time that Spotify's logo has been replaced since the streaming platform partnered with the La Liga team earlier this year in a bid to connect "fans with artists of every kind".
On Instagram, Drake wrote, "This doesn’t feel real but it is."
BBC reports that the team will also wear slightly different shirts for the warm-up on Sunday, which will include Spotify's logo on the front and "Drake 50" on the back.
Juli Guiu, Barcelona's marketing vice-president, said, "Our alliance with Spotify goes beyond a mere commercial relationship. It is a strategic relationship through which we seek to bring together two worlds that can arouse emotion - namely music and football."
"For the first time in our history, we are replacing the name of our main sponsor on the front of the jersey with an internationally acclaimed artist, Drake," Guiu continued. "This initiative shows our potential to become a unique platform to offer experiences that help bring us closer to our fans while reaching out to new audiences around the world."
Barcelona will face Real Madrid this Sunday (16 October) at 3:15pm BST.
