Drake is the most Shazamed artist of all time
Drake tops the list of the most Shazamed artist of all the time on the app, with over 350 million Shazams.
Today (19 August) Shazam, the app that can identify a song and artist, turns 20, and to mark the occasion, Apple has shared various milestones including the most Shazamed artist and most Shazamed song by genre.
It turns out Drake is the most Shazamed artist of all time with over 350 million Shazams, and the most Shazamed song ever is Tones and I's "Dance Monkey", with over 41 million Shazams.
Shazam launched in August 2002 as a text messaging service in the UK, which allowed people to identify songs by calling 2580 and allowing a portion of the song to play, which would be followed up by a text message from Shazam with the song and artist name. In that era of Shazam, Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" was the most Shazamed song.
BTS' have also gained a Shazam achievement, as it only took nine days for "Butter" to reach one million Shazams. Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" is the quickest song to reach 10 million Shazams (87 days), and "Dance Monkey" by Tones and I managed to reach 20 million Shazams in 219 days.
Earlier this month Drake reunited with DJ Khaled and Lil Baby on "Staying Alive".
