DOVES further preview forthcoming album with new single, "Cold Dreaming"
DOVES have shared "Cold Dreaming" as the latest single taken from their forthcoming sixth studio album, Constellations For The Lonely.
"‘Cold Dreaming’ is a song about forgiveness. Trying to forgive and move on. As a minimum, these days, resilience is the thing that you need more than ever, certainly as a musician. Perhaps the lyrics do touch a bit on what we’ve been through," says Andy Williams.
The forthcoming release from DOVES follow their 2020 album, The Universal Want, which marked their first full-length in over a decade, as well as a hiatus which was spurred on by frontman Jimi Goodwin struggling with his mental health.
The band will embark on touring commitments for Constellations For The Lonely without Jimi Goodwin. In his own statement, Goodwin said: "It’s wild to think of a Doves show I might be watching instead of hitting the stage for, but life just hasn’t led us all to the same place. I am doing so much better, taking looking after myself seriously and making music every day, but for now I just can’t commit to a lengthy tour. I need to work and trust in the process of my recovery. I am fully committed to it and right now it’s not compatible with a mad, city-to-city schedule."
Constellations For The Lonely will be released on 14 February 2025 via EMI North, and is available to pre-order via dovesofficial.com.
