claire rousay works through feelings of jealousy on new single, "it could be anything"
Ahead of the release of her forthcoming album, sentiment, claire rousay has released the brand new single, "it could be anything."
"The lyrics tell a story of the dynamics of a relationship, rousay elaborates: “It's the story of a lover out with someone else while you’re already involved with them… the anxiety that comes from sitting around knowing what could be happening with them while one is not there. Just sitting at home freakin' out. Kinda a cheating song, kinda a jealousy song, kinda an apology."
sentiment balances the rousay's poetic soul with a documentarian heart. “I have been on a quest to communicate my feelings and ideas as clearly as possible lately. Pop seemed like the way to do that this time,” says rousay.
sentiment is set for release on 19 April via Thrill Jockey, and is available to pre-order now.
