Cavetown announces new album worm food
Cavetown has announced his new album worm food, and has shared new single "1994" to accompany the news.
"1994" is Cavetown's first outing since July's "Grocery Store", and lands with a video co-directed by Cavetown, real name Robin Skinner, and Lorenzo Diego Carrera.
""1994" is about dealing with perceived guilt and how it can become over-exaggerated in my head," Skinner says of the single. "I’m working on defining the line between what's really wrong in a situation versus what is made up in my head, because it’s the parts that aren’t real that I end up feeling quite guilty about."
Skinner adds, "The lyrics are a message to myself, to help me see that there’s still a child inside of me that is deserving of love and care. The line ‘Say you’re coming around / I need you lately everything’s been getting me down’ is about feeling comforted by isolating myself, but learning to be comforted by the presence of someone else."
worm food will follow 2020's Sleepyhead album, and will feature "Grocery Store" as well as February's beabadoobee collaboration "Fall In Love With A Girl".
"1994" is out now. Cavetown's worm food album will be released via Sire Records on 4 November, and is available to pre-order now.
