Cassyette releases new single "Over It'
Cassyette has released the brand new single, "Over It", which is lifted from her forthcoming debut album, This World Fucking Sucks.
"'Over it’ came to me the day after I wrote my song ‘Mayhem’ - it was like a part two of the song. I actually left it for a while and came back to it a year later, unable to let the song go, I realised I wasn’t able to let the feelings go either," Cassyette says. "It feels very much like it’s had a few different life cycles. When I finally allowed myself to be honest with my feelings, ‘Over it’ was born. The song is about the times I have found myself repeating the same patterns of limerence over and over again after failing relationships. It’s about the convoluted cluster-fuck of thoughts and feelings I find my self going over and over as a chronic over-thinker in love.”
"Over It" is the fourth track lifted from Cassyette’s debut album, This World Fucking Sucks, and follows previous tracks "Why Am I LIke This?", "Ipecac", and most recently "When She Told Me".
"Since my Dad’s passing, I’ve tried my best to not surrender to the darkness that comes with grief. It’s from that darkness that ‘This World Fucking Sucks’ was born, and I really hope to do him proud, and that anyone that’s going through the same thing takes comfort in listening to it. We’re in this together," Cassyette explains.
This World Fucking Sucks is set for release on 23 August via 23 Recordings. To pre-order, and for more information on her forthcoming tour dates, visit cassyette.co.uk.
