Caroline Polachek has been revealed as the artist behind the title track for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the upcoming sequel to Hideo Kojima’s 2019 video game.

Confirmed by Kojima in a new interview with VG247, he shared insight into the soundtrack’s collaborative process. “I was listening to Caroline Polachek last year and became a big fan,” Kojima said. “She contacted me after I posted about her on Instagram. We kept in touch, met up in Paris, and that’s when she said she wanted to write a song for the game.”

Now confirmed as the game’s title track, “On the Beach”, due 26 June, was previewed during a cinematic sequence known as the "Plate Gate."

Earlier this year, Woodkid’s cinematic track “To The Wilder” premiered in a ten-minute trailer for Death Stranding 2, offering the first glimpse into the sequel’s score.

Since then, Kojima has only fueled speculation around the full soundtrack, sharing behind-the-scenes photos with Bring Me The Horizon, Nine Inch Nails, and CHVRCHES, a move that has left fans wondering whether the artists will appear on the game’s score or be tied to its in-development film adaptation.

The original game in 2019 featured music from Low Roar, Bring Me The Horizon, and The Neighbourhood.

While Kojima recently revealed he already has a concept for Death Stranding 3, he says he’s not planning to direct it himself. “If I passed it on to someone else, they could probably make it,” he said.
