Britney Spears reveals that she'd like to collaborate with Jay-Z on Beyoncé's "Daddy Lessons"
In a new Instagram posted yesterday, (9 October), Britney Spears shared her thoughts on recording a cover of Beyoncé’s “Daddy Lessons” featuring a new rap verse from Jay-Z.
The track features on Beyoncé's sixth studio album, Lemonade, which was released in 2016, and was one of her most personal albums, centred around the discovery that Jay-Z had been unfaithful.
In the original caption to a video which saw Spears dancing to the song, which has since been edited, she wrote: “So many people have done remixes to my songs without my knowledge … so I guess it’s safe to say I will be redoing this song eventually !!! Just need to meet Jay-Z and add a rap to it … what’s up ???”
A remix of "Daddy Lessons" featuring The Chicks (previously The Dixie Chicks) was released not long after the album came out, and the pair performed the track live at the 50th annual Country Music Association Awards.
Britney Spears recently released a new collaboration with Will.i.am on "Mind Your Business". The pair have previously collaborated in 2013 on the track “Scream & Shout".
