Britney Spears responds to Sabrina Carpenter's VMAs homage: "She made me cool"
Earlier this week, the MTV Video Music Awards took place at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
A plethora of artists paid homage to Britney Spears at the awards show including Megan Thee Stallion who paid tribute to Britney Spears' iconic look from the 2001 VMAs where she performed "Slave 4 U" with a python in her hands.
Sabrina Carpenter, meanwhile, played a snippet of “Oops!…I Did It Again” in the middle of her medley which included "Taste", "Please Please Please", and "Espresso".

In response to Carpenter's performance, Spears shared a video and said: "Did you guys watch the VMAs? I didn’t watch the VMAs, but I did see stuff on my phone from YouTube of Sabrina Carpenter,” via her Instagram Story.
"Why is she kissing an alien on stage? I adore her. I love her to death. I didn’t understand that part. Why didn’t she kiss a girl? Like, that was weird. But I also thought that the whole thing was kind of weird altogether," she continued. "Sabrina girl, she said my name on the red carpet and I thought that was kinda cool, because I forget I’m famous sometimes because I’m a mom, I’m kind of old, blah blah blah. But I thought it was kind of cool, this Sabrina girl, Carpenter. She said something, I was like “Thanks, that’s cool!” She made me cool."
Britney Spears is reportedly working on a biopic.
