Bon Iver details first album in six years, SABLE fABLE
Justin Vernon has announced Bon Iver’s next chapter, SABLE, fABLE which is the project’s first album in six years.
As per a mailout from the artist's label, "the album begins with the vulnerable unburdening of last year’s SABLE EP, before unfolding into an entirely new nine-song saga. Where SABLE is a sparse and solitary reckoning with a pain that long-defined the past, fABLE looks towards a vibrant future filled with light, purpose and possibility: a partner, new memories, perhaps a family."
The album will be previewed on Thursday evening with the release of new single, "Everything Is Peaceful Love", which will arrive alongside a music video shot and edited by filmmaker John Wilson, of HBO’s How To with John Wilson.
Produced by Justin Vernon and Jim-E Stack, SABLE, fABLE was primarily recorded at Vernon’s April Base in Wisconsin, after years that the studio spent laying dormant during a renovation. The conceptual genesis for the album occurred on 22/02/22, when Stack arrived at the Base with Danielle Haim. Snowed in for multiple days, Vernon and Haim’s voices intertwined on “If Only I Could Wait,” a duet with crucial perspective, about not having the strength to be the best version of yourself outside the glow of new love.
The full-length release is set to follow i,i, released in 2019, and 22, A Million, which came out in 2016.
