
Beck covers Bob Dylan at surprise Newport Folk Festival performance

On Friday (26 July), Beck appeared at Newport Folk Festival for a surprise performance.
Opening his set with the 1965 track “Maggie’s Farm,” which Bob Dylan himself first debuted to open his set at the festival in 1965, Beck also covered the likes ofFred Neil’s “The Other Side Of This Life,” Jimmie Rodgers’ “Waiting For A Train,” and Blind Willie Johnson’s “God Moves On The Water.”
Elsewhere on Friday night, Mavis Staples, Joan Baez, The Lumineers, Allison Russell, Madison Cunningham, Nathaniel Rateliff, joined Hozier's headline performance for a cover of the Band’s “The Weight.”
Newport Folk Festival took place from 26-28 July 2024.
