Beach Fossils share new track “Run to the Moon”
Beach Fossils release the third single from their forthcoming fifth album Bunny.
"Run to the Moon" captures frontman Dustin Payseur’s transition from being terrified by the idea of parenthood to the overwhelming joy of the birth of his daughter.
The new single will appear on Beach Fossils' upcoming album Bunny, which will be their first new studio album since 2017's Somersault. It follows on from "Don't Fade Away" and "Dare Me".
The accompanying video, self-directed by Payseur with cinematography and colour from Luke Atlas, is a humorous expression of genuine friendship the members of Beach Fossils — Tommy Davidson (guitar), Jack Doyle Smith (bass), and Anton Hochheim (drums) — share with each other.
Bunny was produced and recorded by Payseur himself, with Lars Stalfors (St. Vincent, Soccer Mommy, Lil Peep) mixing. Payseur remarks that in creating this album, a bigger emphasis was made for stronger attunement to pop structure. “When I wrote the first record, there were no choruses; it was instrumental guitar parts in between verses. This is the first record where I’ve consciously thought about writing a chorus.”
"Run to the Moon" is out now. Beach Fossils' Bunny album will arrive via Bayonet on 2 June, and is available to pre-order now.
