Bad Bunny and Ice Spice are the first music guests on first SNL episode since writers strike
Pete Davidson is set to return as host for the premiere of the 49th season of Saturday Night Live alongside Bad Bunny and Ice Spice.
The 48th season of Saturday Night Live was cut short due to the Writers Guild of America’s (WGA) strike. They have now reached an agreement with the Television Producers (AMPTP) to end the strike, which means SNL is set to return for its 49th season next Saturday (14 October).
Davidson was set to host SNL on 6 May, but the episode was cancelled due to the writer's strike. He spent nine seasons on the programme before leaving last year. During the following week (21 October), Bad Bunny is set to pull double duties as both as a host and performer.

Bad Bunny first appeared on SNL in 2020. Since then, he has been nominated for six Latin Grammy Awards, and a plethora of Billboard Music Awards. Last month, Ice Spice was named Best New Artist at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
The 49th season of Saturday Night Live is set to air from next week onwards.
