Azealia Banks demands $1M from Matty Healy in cease and desist letter
After an online feud, last week, Azealia Banks sent a cease and desist letter to Matty Healy, demanding a huge sum of money in damages.
The pair engaged in a tirade after Matty Healy responded to Azealia Banks critiquing Charli xcx. "Azealia you seem to have a blind spot when it comes to your ‘reads’. All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people, he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.. "I think this makes you jealous cos you’re so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro."
As she stood her ground, and then came for his fiancé Gabriette Bechtel, Healy threatened her with violence. "Talk to me like that I’m not gonna side eye you at an awards do I’m going to fucking slap you so hard I’ll get a Guinness world record for the highest a rat some bitch calls a wig has ever flown." He has since deleted the post, and shared an apology.

"The point of it all.... that really makes it a non apology... was Matt Healy apologizing for himself publicly, and not having enough respect to apologize to ME just as publicly. Clearly you can understand how this situation is bring up LOADS of PTSD, and still set up to disregard any modicum of basic respect that I deserve," Azealia Banks shared in response to his apology, before sharing the cease and desist letter in which she asks for $1M.
"Once again, he is totally focused on letting himself down and apologizing to himself, instead of apologizing for letting me down and hurting me. Whoever his PR agent is needs to be fired because this entire statement includes yet another count of defamation, another count of intentionally inflicted emotional distress, and three more admissions of guilt."
Matty Healy has not responded to the letter.
