Ariana Grande on using her full name in Wicked credits: "This experience was such a homecoming for me"
Ahead of the Australian premiere for Wicked, Ariana Grande and her co-stars stopped by Australian radio station 104.7 Canberra to discuss the film.
The interviewer noticed that Ariana Grande used her “grown-up name” in the credits (Ariana Grande-Butera) of the forthcoming film, and decided to ask Grande what the decision was behind this.
“Technically, it’s my little girl name! It’s technically little Ari’s name...It just feels like this experience was such a homecoming for me. I feel like I came home to myself in a lot of ways, through what I learned from Glinda and Elphaba,” she replied. “That was my name when I went to see the show when I was 10 years old, and it felt like a really lovely way of honouring that. It felt really full circle and something I wanted to do.”
