Andy Shauf unveils new song "Catch Your Eye"
Andy Shauf has delivered a second preview of his upcoming album Norm titled "Catch Your Eye".
After announcing Norm with the lead outing "Wasted On You" last month, Andy Shauf has unveiled a second taster of the record tiled "Catch Your Eye", which is teamed with an animated video by Mary Vertulfo.
Norm will follow Shauf's 2021 album Wilds. He plays every instrument on the self-produced record, which was recorded in his garage studio.
Shauf was inspired by David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, which led him to rewrite all of the album’s original lyrics, and recruit Nicholas Olson as a story editor. After writing the title-track, he decided the album should have a narrative built around a character called Norm. "The character of Norm is introduced in a really nice way," Shauf says. "But the closer you pay attention to the record, the more you're going to realise that it's sinister."
"Catch Your Eye" is out now. Andy Shauf will release his Norm album via ANTI- on 10 February 2023, and it's available to pre-order now. He'll play London's Hackney Empire on 1 June 2023. Visit andyshauf.com for tickets.
