Addison Rae teases the release of her lost album tracks and Charli XCX collaboration
Taking to her socials, Addison Rae appears to confirm that she will be releasing new music on Friday (18 August).
The TikTok star released her debut single, "Obsessed" in 2021. She then revealed that she was working on an EP with Charli XCX, producers Benny Blanco and Blake Slatkin, and songwriters including Sarah Hudson (Dua Lipa), Madison Love, Tia Scola and Brett “Leland” McLaughlin.
In an interview with Variety at the time, she said that the music was due to be released soon. "I’ve been songwriting a lot more, and learning more about production and the more intricate parts of music, instead of just performing. I have four songs right now that are ready and I’m really excited to share."
Now, two years later, she's taken to her socials to announce that she will be releasing some of the songs that had leaked two years ago. Eagle-eyed fans have also noticed copyright claims against a leaked compilation on YouTube, which was made via Warner Music Group.
The tracks include "2 die 4", which is said to feature Charli XCX, as well as "i got it bad", and her debut single, "Obsessed".
"Nothing On (But The Radio)" was originally recorded and written by Lady Gaga during her Born This Way album era. The song was also a contender for ARTPOP, however, the song also did not make onto the final cut. The song title is a direct reference to a quote by Marilyn Monroe – “It’s not true I had nothing on, I had the radio on.”
